My partner and I aren’t married yet (we’re getting there), but seven years in and both running our businesses remotely, we’ve had our fair share of romantic getaways together. I’ve also spent close to a decade living in Thailand and years traveling through Bali, the Philippines, and Vietnam, the exact places that keep topping the real 2026 honeymoon rankings. So consider this the list from someone who knows what these places actually cost and feel like day to day, not just what looks good in a resort brochure, honeymoon or not.

Bali is Tripadvisor’s actual #1 honeymoon destination for 2026, and having traveled through it myself, that ranking checks out. Rice terraces, beach clubs, and jungle villas all within an hour of each other, and a cost of living that means a genuinely luxurious-feeling week doesn’t require a luxury budget. Ubud for the jungle-and-wellness version, Uluwatu or Canggu if you want beach and nightlife instead.
Koh Samui tops several editors’ 2026-27 honeymoon lists outright, and it’s easy to see why once you’ve spent real time in this country. I’ve lived in Thailand for nearly a decade, and while my day-to-day is Chiang Mai, the islands are where I send anyone planning a honeymoon: white sand, warm water, and a level of affordability that lets you stretch a week into two without stretching your budget the same way.
Palawan (El Nido specifically) is one of the most genuinely underrated honeymoon spots on this entire list. Lagoons, limestone cliffs, and island-hopping that looks like a screensaver, all at a cost of living that makes a two-week trip realistic on a budget that wouldn’t cover a week somewhere more famous.
The Maldives is the classic luxury honeymoon pick for a reason: overwater bungalows, seaplane arrivals, and water so clear it looks edited. It’s genuinely one of the pricier destinations on this list, so it’s the one to save for if a splurge honeymoon is the goal rather than a budget one.
